BIOGRAPHY
The list of accomplishments for this two-time Olympic gold medalist speak for themselves. Wescott solidified his spot in snowboardcross history in 2006 becoming the first man to win Olympic gold in his sport, and then again in 2010 when he repeated his performance to become a back-to-back Olympic champion. But it's his constant quest for first descents on big mountains that define Seth as a person. Annual spring trips to Alaska's Chugach Mountains and the shores of Costa Rica keep life in perspective for the most influential man in snowboardcross.

SETH SAYS

It was an up and down season for me for sure - great start in South America, my most consistent year in time trials, but frustrating with the nagging injuries after my crashes in Telluride. But it came back together winning the time trials at X Games and challenging for the victory there, even though I had to settle for second. The Olympics was once again over the top and I had the amazing experience of tapping into that desire to win that rests a little deeper beneath the surface. To become the first American man to defend a gold in a snow sport in the Olympic Games is an honor I will carry with me the rest of my life. Now it is time to refocus, enjoy some downtime and look forward to going for my fourth World Championship podium.

FIRST TRACKS

On skis by the age of eight, Wescott raced for a couple of seasons before getting bored. At 10, he started riding and his skis still sit in his mom's barn where he left them 20 years ago. For a while, he split his time between pipe and SBX training, but when he got word that SBX was going to get an Olympic nod, he went nearly full-time to running the mountain fast.

OFF THE SNOW

When I am not on the snow I can generally be found on the golf course, traveling for surf or powder or keeping myself busy at home landscaping, helping out at my restaurtant, The Rack, working on projects with Sugarloaf or working to help future generations of CVA'ers get ready to chase after their dreams. Aside from that I can be found chilling out with my cat Little, catching up on books and lying around the house just enjoying being at home.
